Welcoming guests
Be the friendly face at the door — greet people, show them to a seat and help everyone feel at home.
Get involved
Chesterfield Together is powered entirely by local people giving a bit of time. There’s no minimum, no interview panel, and no such thing as an unhelpful skill.
Pick your apron
Nine ways to help — from the kitchen to the camera. Role requirements are being confirmed and will be published here.
Be the friendly face at the door — greet people, show them to a seat and help everyone feel at home.
Help in the kitchen peeling, prepping and cooking a proper roast alongside a cheerful team.
Bring plates to tables, keep the gravy flowing and share a chat while you are at it.
Help lay the tables before guests arrive, or lend a hand with the washing-up and tidying after.
Keep friendly contact with neighbours who would appreciate it — a visit, a call, a bit of company.
Capture the warmth of our events so we can share what community looks like (always with consent).
Help spread the word — share what is on, post photos and keep our neighbours in the loop.
Help keep the ovens on — from collection tins to community fundraisers and local sponsorship.
Got a van, a toolbox or a knack for fixing things? Practical skills make a real difference.
Hidden talents welcome
Communities run on odd and wonderful skills. Maybe you can drive a minibus, bake for Britain, fix a leaky tap, design a poster or translate a leaflet. If you’ve got it, there’s almost certainly a neighbour who needs it.
Tell us what you’re good at — surprise us!
Details to be confirmed
The group is setting up a simple, transparent way to accept donations and local sponsorship. Until then, contact us if you’d like to support the work — we’d love to talk.
Local businesses, venues, schools and groups — if you share the belief that Chesterfield is better together, there are lots of ways to work with us, from venue space to ingredients to volunteer days. Start a conversation.
Wondering something?
No. Every role comes with friendly people to show you the ropes. If you can smile and muck in, you’re qualified.
As much or as little as you like. Some volunteers help at every event; others give an hour here and there. Both matter.
TODO: confirm — some roles may need things like a food hygiene certificate or DBS check. Requirements will be confirmed here, and we’ll help you sort any that are needed.
TODO: confirm — the group is confirming its policy for younger volunteers. Get in touch and we’ll let you know.
A real person from the group will reply for a friendly, no-pressure chat about what you fancy doing. TODO: confirm the volunteer welcome process.
