The serious bit
Privacy Policy
Draft — to be reviewed by the organisers before launch
TODO FOR ORGANISERS: this is a plain-English starting point, not legal advice. Review it, fill in the marked gaps, and if possible have someone familiar with UK GDPR check it before the site goes live.
The short version
We collect as little information about you as possible, we never sell it, and we only use it to reply to you and run our activities.
Who we are
Chesterfield Together is a volunteer-led community group in Chesterfield, Derbyshire.TODO: confirm legal status (e.g. unincorporated association, CIC, registered charity) and, if applicable, registration details and the group's relationship with Kakou CIC.
What we collect and why
- Contact form messages — your name, email address, optional phone number and message, used only to reply to you. TODO: name the form provider used (e.g. Basin or Formspree) and link to their privacy policy once connected.
- Event enquiries — details you share when booking or asking about an event, used only to organise that event.
- Nothing behind the scenes — this website does not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies.
How long we keep it
TODO: confirm retention periods — a sensible default is deleting enquiry emails once a conversation has finished, and keeping volunteer details only while someone volunteers.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email us athello@chesterfieldtogether.org.uk and we will sort it out. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
Photographs
We only publish photographs from our events with the permission of the people in them.TODO: confirm the group's photo consent process.
Last updated: TODO — set the date when this policy is finalised.
